Security Management-Level 6 (Diploma) is run on a Competency Based Education Training (CBET) mode. Emphasis is on learners gaining competencies rather than theoretical grilling. Learners are assessed based on milestone achieved in the process of their training. The course assessment is done by trained industry assessors vetted by ICSSPK and CDACC. Intake, study options and duration

The course takes a period of 11/2 years. The intakes are in January, May and September every year. CHRM study options are designed to meet the needs of various clients, hence; sunrise classes staring from 6:30am to 8:00am, full day classes from 8:00am to 4:00pm, evening classes from 5:30am to 8:00pm and Saturday classes from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

3. To introduce the learner to the concept of the law and procedures as they relate to the study of security and risk management.

The Level 6 (Diploma) course in Security Management is intended to meet the national needs on capacity building in the police, prison and private security firms. Security studies provide a rich knowledge directly concerning these institutions. It offers research techniques and contributes to institutional reforms. The Programme is designed for students or clients who wish to pursue careers in police services, forensic investigations, human Rehabilitation services and security management. The private sector will find the trainees useful in security management and related roles. In general, it is expected that this programme will complement and sustain the professionalization of the police, prison and probation services in East Africa and beyond.

Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this programme, graduates of Level 6 (Diploma) in Security Management will have acquired knowledge, skills, attitudes and abilities to be able to;

1. Demonstrate an understanding of the key concepts and theoretical perspectives which relate to Security Management.
2. Engage in a critical and inter-disciplinary approach to Security  Management
3. Have an understanding of crime and criminal justice policy.
4. Gain competency in security planning, coordination, end  management

A KCSE mean grade of C- or Pass at level 5 of a related course   or equivalent qualification acceptable by KNQA
